LIKE BRINGING A WOOD-BURNING STOVE AND HOT COCOA INTO THE FOREST
A forester moves through the cold and rain-soaked winter landscape. The cold cuts straight to the bone. But not for this forester, who stays warm with heated socks and a heated vest from Happyhot.
The forester in question is forest and landscape engineer Vinnie Stølvei. She is a true nature lover and uses Happyhot’s heated clothing both at work and in her free time when she goes hunting, skiing, spends time in the stable, or rides her four horses. If you ask her why she uses socks and a vest with built-in heating, her answer is clear: “I use Happyhot’s products because they make it easier to get outside on cold days. I’m very sensitive to drafts and lose a bit of the desire to go out if I know there’s a chance I’ll end up freezing. It keeps me from enjoying nature. The heating products from Happyhot give me fantastic comfort. I compare it to bringing hot cocoa and a wood stove with you on a cold winter day. The same warm and comfortable feeling.”
Vinnie also emphasizes the mental clarity that comes from not having to worry about freezing: “The products are fantastic when I’m out riding. Before I started using the heated socks, I sometimes felt like my toes were rattling around inside my riding boots because they were frozen solid. And it was definitely not a pleasant feeling to jump down onto the ground afterward. It’s clear that freezing reduces your mental capacity when working with and training your horse. And the same goes when I’m with my dogs. You feel better together with the animals and have more energy for them when you’re not cold.”
When she is at work, the Alaska vest from Happyhot is a constant companion. “My job is a bit unusual for a forester because it mostly involves inspecting open land. And it’s very varied with office time and transportation. Here the vest is perfect because it meets my need for flexibility. I can turn the heating function on and off as needed. Often it’s actually warm enough on its own without turning on the heat. The same goes for the socks, by the way. They’re made of merino wool and therefore keep warmth incredibly well -even without the heating turned on. As for the vest, however, I’m a bit hesitant to wear it in the stable without a jacket over it. Because I think it’s so nice that I don’t want to ruin it.”
Happyhot’s Hafjell heated gloves are designed especially with riders like Vinnie in mind, as they are reinforced between the little finger and ring finger. But the gloves have many other uses as well, which Vinnie has noticed: “I’ve recommended the gloves to my colleagues who work in the forest measuring trees. They use a measuring stick to measure wood stacks, and that can be really tough on the hands in winter. That’s why I’ve given the heating products from Happyhot my warmest recommendations when talking to my colleagues.”
